McHenry Parks & Recreation

McHenry Parks & Recreation runs a USA Archery-affiliated Junior Olympic Archery Development program as part of its municipal recreation offerings in McHenry, Illinois, northwest of Chicago. Parks and recreation departments running JOAD programs is a model seen in a number of towns, folding archery into the same public system that handles youth sports leagues and community classes rather than leaving it to a private club. McHenry County's mix of suburban development and remaining farmland supports a decent population base for a municipal program to draw from.
